Google Doodle 2017.12.04

Here in all brevity my shortest solutions for today’s Google Doodle “Celebrating 50 years of Kids Coding”. For Stages 4 and 6 I found shorter solutions than the number in the road map suggests. Just try them out!

Pro tip: you can set the number of repeats for loops by clicking into the number-field.

Stage 4: 6 instead of 7 steps

3 loops are needed in the outer loop in order to make the bunny turn around for the next loop. This saves the one step needed otherwise to turn the bunny by two steps between the two inner loop runs.

This is in fact the same solution you can use for the Stage 5, only with 4 loops in the outer loop.

Stage 6: 4 instead of 6 steps:

XKCD.com 1416 – Pixels

Today, Randall put up a new multi-image comic on his site, titled “Pixels”: http://xkcd.com/1416/

At the start you see an image with a cueball kneeling before a stack of turtles, with the note “scroll to zoom”.

When you zoom in, all pixels of the image expand into a new image, where black pixels turn into dark images, and white pixels into bright images. The process can be repeated over and over, where a number of different images can be discovered, and some stories unfold.
